Privacy Statement
How PWI, Inc. collects, uses, and protects information submitted through this website.

PWI, Inc. ("PWI," "we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Statement explains what personal information we collect when you visit pwi-e.com, how we use it, and your rights with respect to that information. PWI is a manufacturer of aviation LED lighting, precision coil windings, and electronic components; an FAA- and EASA-approved repair station (FAA Repair Station PJ2R085L; EASA.145.5092); and an engineering and contract manufacturing services provider, headquartered at 109 South Knight Street, Wichita, Kansas 67213 USA.
We collect information in two ways: details you choose to submit through our forms, and limited technical information created when you browse the site.
Information you submit. Depending on the form you use, this may include:
- General Inquiry: name, email address, phone number, company name, inquiry type, product or system of interest, your message, and how you heard about us.
- Quote Requests: the type of quote requested, your name and email address, optional company and phone information, and relevant project, aircraft, product, part number, quantity, service, or other information you choose to provide.
- Get Updates Sign-Up: name, email address, phone number (optional), and product areas of interest.
If you type your email into a Get Updates box elsewhere on the site (the homepage, the page footer, or the sign-up prompt), it is held briefly in your browser and filled in for you on the Get Updates page. It is not added to the page address, and it is removed as soon as the form uses it.
How our forms are handled. When you send a contact, quote or Get Updates form, it is delivered through Google's services (Google Apps Script). Your submission is saved in a PWI Google Sheet and emailed to PWI staff. If you sign up for PWI updates, we also send you a welcome email and add your name, email address, phone number, and company name, if provided, to Constant Contact, the service we use to send PWI email updates. The website does not send your information to Constant Contact automatically.
Technical and usage information.
- Server and security logs: Our website host and its security firewall automatically record standard details, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the time, to keep the site secure and running.
- Google Analytics: Shows us how visitors use the site, such as which pages are viewed and whether someone scanned one of our printed product QR codes. It sets cookies only if you accept them. Some basic information is sent without cookies whatever you choose; see Cookies & Website Analytics below.
- Google reCAPTCHA: Our contact, quote and Get Updates forms use Google reCAPTCHA to block spam. It starts when you open one of those pages, collects hardware and software information such as device and application data, and sends it to Google for analysis. Use of reCAPTCHA is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
- Site search: Search runs in your browser. Your search words appear in the page address, so they can show up in our server logs and in Google Analytics.
- Code libraries: Our search page loads code from jsDelivr, and our PDF viewer loads code from cdnjs (run by Cloudflare). When your browser loads this code, these services receive basic technical details such as your IP address.
- Translation: If you use the language menu, page content is processed by Google Translate, as described below.
We do not collect payment card numbers or financial account information through this website. Orders and payments are handled separately through our sales team and accounting.
We use the information you provide solely for business purposes related to your inquiry or request, including to:
- Respond to quote requests, sales inquiries, and support questions.
- Send product updates, news, and promotions if you have signed up for PWI updates.
- Process and fulfill orders when applicable.
- Improve our website and communications based on feedback.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for any reason.
If you are in the European Union or United Kingdom, we rely on these legal grounds:
- Answering your contact or quote request: to take steps you ask for before a possible order, and our legitimate interest* in responding to business inquiries.
- Sending PWI updates: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Keeping the site secure and blocking spam (server and firewall logs, and reCAPTCHA): our legitimate interest*.
- Keeping a record of your cookie choice: our legitimate interest* in showing which choices were made.
- Analytics cookies: your consent (see our Cookie Policy).

This website offers optional page translation through Google Translate. If you select a language other than English, Google may process the text of the page you are viewing and set cookies (such as googtrans) to remember your language choice. Google's handling of that data is governed by Google's privacy policy. Translation is optional; you can use the site in English without selecting another language.
This website uses cookies and similar browser storage to remember your choices and, with your consent, to understand how visitors use the site. On your first visit, a banner lets you accept all cookies, reject optional cookies, or choose in Cookie settings. You can change your choice at any time.
Your choice is saved in your browser. We also keep a record of each choice: the date and time, the page you were on, and whether you allowed analytics cookies. It does not include your name or email address.
Google Analytics is on every page but sets analytics cookies only if you accept them. Even if you don't accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics still sends Google some basic information each time you view a page, such as the page address, but without using cookies.
Our Google Analytics account is linked to our Google Ads accounts. Because of this, when you view one of our Contact pages, Google Analytics also sends a cookie-free signal to Google's advertising measurement service, whatever your cookie choice. This can also happen on our "page not found" page if you follow an outdated link to one of our LED lighting pages. Our website always tells Google that advertising cookies and personalized advertising are not allowed.
We do not use marketing or advertising cookies.

We do not sell or share your personal information with outside parties except in the following limited circumstances:
- Service Providers: Companies that help us run our website and business, only as needed to provide their services and subject to confidentiality obligations:
- our website host and its security firewall, which handle every visit to the site
- our email provider, which delivers and stores email sent to PWI
- Google, for our website forms (Google Apps Script, Google Sheets and Gmail), the record of your cookie choice, spam protection (Google reCAPTCHA), analytics (Google Analytics, which is linked to our Google Ads accounts; see Cookies & Website Analytics) and optional translation (Google Translate)
- Constant Contact, which we use to send PWI email updates. If you sign up for PWI updates, your name, email address, phone number, and company name, if provided, are added to Constant Contact.
- Legal Requirements: When disclosure is required by law, regulation, legal process, or government request.
- Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
Our search page and PDF viewer also load code from jsDelivr and cdnjs (run by Cloudflare). These services receive basic technical details, such as your IP address, when your browser loads that code.
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the personal information you submit against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. No method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes in this statement, our business records, warranty and support obligations, and legal requirements. This includes form submissions kept in PWI's email and form records, the contact details kept in Constant Contact for PWI updates, and the record of your cookie choice. Aviation regulations require us to keep certain order and transaction records (see Your Rights).
If you signed up for PWI updates, you can stop them at any time:
- Use the Unsubscribe link at the bottom of any PWI email update. We send email updates through Constant Contact, and this link removes you from our mailing list there.
- Or email marketing@pwi-e.com, or reply to our welcome email, and ask to be removed.
We will remove you from our mailing list promptly.
Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including the right to:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of your information, subject to applicable legal obligations.
- Request restriction of processing of your information in certain circumstances (for example, while we verify a correction request or while you contest the lawfulness of processing).
- Object to processing of your personal information where we rely on legitimate interests* as the legal basis, including objecting to the use of your information for direct marketing.
- Withdraw consent for communications at any time.
- Receive a copy of your information in a common format (we provide a CSV spreadsheet file).
- Complain to your local data protection authority if you are in the EU or UK.
* Legitimate interest means we have a genuine reason to use this information, such as running our website and business or providing something you asked for, and that reason does not override your privacy rights.
When you make a request, we will check PWI's email, our form records and, if you signed up for updates, Constant Contact.
Please note that aircraft transaction regulations governing the aviation industry require PWI to retain certain transactional and order records regardless of personal data requests. Information held in PWI's transactional or order records is maintained for legal, regulatory, and warranty purposes and is not available for user editing or deletion.
To make a request, email privacy@pwi-e.com. We will ask you to confirm your identity first. For corrections, include your updated details. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. Where applicable, we will send your information as a CSV spreadsheet file. We will email you when your request is complete.
To stop receiving PWI updates, use the Unsubscribe link in any PWI email update or email marketing@pwi-e.com (see Opting Out of Updates above).
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect about you and to request deletion of that information. To submit a request, email privacy@pwi-e.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
This website is operated from the United States. If you send us information from outside the US, it will be processed here in line with this Privacy Statement.
Some services we use may process data outside your country, including in the United States:
- Google, for our website forms and the record of your cookie choice (Google Apps Script, Google Sheets and Gmail); Google Analytics, including the cookie-free signals and the Google Ads link described under Cookies & Website Analytics; Google Translate, if you use the language menu; and Google reCAPTCHA, on our contact, quote and Get Updates pages
- Constant Contact, which we use to send PWI email updates
Google LLC takes part in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and uses Standard Contractual Clauses for international data transfers from the European Union and United Kingdom. For more information, see Google’s privacy policy.
This website is intended for business and professional use. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If we become aware that we have inadvertently received such information, we will delete it promptly.
In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, PWI will take the following steps:
- Investigate and contain the breach as quickly as possible.
- Notify affected individuals by email within a reasonable timeframe once the scope of the breach is known.
- Report the breach to relevant authorities where required by law — including within 72 hours under GDPR for EU residents, and as required under applicable US state laws.
- Provide details of what information was affected, what steps we have taken, and what you can do to protect yourself.

We may update this Privacy Statement from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this statement periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information.
This Privacy Statement is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Kansas, USA, without regard to its conflict of law provisions (meaning Kansas law applies even if another state's or country's laws might otherwise seem relevant to your situation).
