A lumen is a measure of light brightness. A higher lumens number means brighter light. Often business jet interior lighting is indirect, so there are no concerns about lights being “too bright” inside the aircraft cabin.

Special Missions aircraft such as AirMed are often fitted with custom-designed and brighter LEDs for patient care reasons. PWI often helps complete these specialized interior projects.

Color temperature choices allow aircraft owners to design the cabin look and feel.

Yes, completely custom aircraft cabin lights are available using an FAA Form 337 Field Approval, where required. Typically an FAA inspection (often performed by a DER) is required to verify fit, form, and function to complete the form and sign the aircraft logbook.

Yes, you can. However, nearly half of our 1600 part numbers for fluorescent lights cannot be created due to parts availability issues.

We build brand-new fluorescent lights every day. We create new lights and overhaul our fluorescent power supplies.

Factory-overhauled fluorescent light power supplies come with a one-year factory warranty. Refer to the part number printed on the unit to order.

Coil windings started our business in 1963. We have experience creating a broad range of windings, usually used as a subassembly in a larger finished product. There are only a few companies in the world that create fluxgate magnetometers by hand, and we are one of them. The engineering solutions offered by these magnetometers result in unique product designs that cannot be accomplished using other technologies.

Electrical engineering is a comprehensive range of scalable, value-added engineering services. Our experience performing engineering for a diverse group of customers can be applied to almost any project.

Often this work is outlined in a Statement of Work (SOW) proposal that clearly spells out the work process in detail, the desired features, a timeline and the estimated costs of the project.

We can provide as much engineering assistance for your product idea and requirements, as needed. Our services include anything from concept design development and prototyping, to in-house electronic testing and more. Our manufacturing personnel can also help build production units and kit them for shipment.

Contract manufacturing is an agreement between PWI and our customers to produce components and/or finished products once the design and engineering has been completed. We have customers that have completely engineered and tested their own prototypes, but need assistance in sourcing components and building a large quantity of units.

If you need help building your products or components — whether we completed the engineering or not — we can help. We have completed manufacturing projects in a variety of industries.

Aircraft Lighting: You can buy direct from us, or direct your favorite MRO to call us. You will most likely need an A&P at the MRO to perform the lighting installation and handle the paperwork/logbook. We have Authorized Distributors and Authorized Installation Center partners internationally.

Windings / Coils / Engineering / Production: These projects usually begin with a call or meeting to discuss the project in detail. We usually prepare a Statement of Work to outline the work to be performed along with an estimate of the time required to complete the project.

All warranty returns must be approved by PWI in advance of return shipment back to PWI. Shipments to PWI should have the PWI-assigned RMA number on the shipping box.

All customers must inspect products upon receipt. Products damaged during shipment should be addressed with the shipping provider. PWI does not assume any responsibility for damaged shipments. Any product returned for defects upon arrival must be returned, with an RMA number, within 30 days of the invoice for warranty consideration. There are no returns for products outside of warranty issues.
